Barbourmeade sits just off of Brownsboro Road and Barbour Lane, which is where the city’s name comes from. Barbour Lane, however, was named after Thomas and Richard Barbour, and was actually once the entry drive to the Barbour House, situated on their 500-acre tract of land.
