John developed an appreciation for all aspects of seniors aging when he was a young teenager and his great-grandmother from Grayson, KY came to live with his family. Mama Yates lived to be 101 years old and was an integral part of John’s life, sparking his passion for senior care as a career.
After spending a large portion of his career in the business world, John left his corporate position at the Papa John’s company in 2007 and started down the path that would eventually lead to the founding of Premier Caregiver Services. In 2015, John became the Owner and Agency Manager of the caregiving company, and now solely focuses on helping his team provide the best caregivers in the market.
In his spare time, John loves to boat, water ski, mountain bike, and spend time with his wife Heather, their two boys, and young daughter.
Kelly developed a passion for senior care in 2010, when she began caring for her grandmother, who had dementia. Now, with over 12 years of experience working with seniors, she acts as the Vice President and Agency Manager for Premier and is certified as an Alzheimer’s Association Community Educator. Before her current role, Kelly was the Memory Care Director for 3 years at Atria Springdale, where she oversaw the care of residents with dementia. She quickly moved up the chain from Memory Care Director to Business Director and then to Executive Director, where she stayed until late 2022 when she joined Premier as the Vice President and Agency Manager.
Kelly has been married to her husband Jim for 23 years, with whom she has 2 sons, 1 daughter, and a dog named Bruno. Her free time is spent with family, and she is happiest when all her children are home for dinner and laughing together. She also enjoys reading, time at Rough River, and watching the Steelers as a family of fans!
Michael Carr was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from Trinity High School in 2013 and went to further his education at Sullivan University with a business degree. Michael interned and then worked part-time with Dell Technologies before joining the Premier team full time in 2019, which he considers one of the best decisions he has made. Michael was fortunate enough to grow up with 4 grandparents who all lived within 5 miles of his parent’s house. He was very close to each of them and spent a lot of his time at their houses, helping any way he could. Michael found his passion for helping the elderly, the injured, and sick early, but his investment goes way beyond helping only his own family, and he often tries to give back to the Louisville community in any way that he can, including helping our elderly and sick stay as healthy and comfortable as possible in their own home.
When Michael isn’t working he can be found watching his favorite sports teams play, spending time with family and friends, traveling with his wife, or spending time with his 3 dogs – Fenway, Murphy and Libby.
Originally from California, Loretta has lived in Kentucky for about 30 years, but spent the majority of her life in the Elizabethtown-area and only moved to Louisville a few years ago in order to be closer to her three grandchildren. Loretta graduated from West Texas State University in Canyon, TX, with a degree in business and worked in the restaurant industry for about 35 years. She spent a significant part of her career working with Dairy Queen’s corporate offices, where she served as the Vice President of Operations for 12 years. Loretta’s familiarity with Premier Caregiver Services originates from her personal life – while looking for help caring for an elderly friend who had suffered a stroke, she met with a variety of home care agencies in the Louisville-area. After meeting with Premier Caregiver Services’ President, John O’Callaghan, she decided to hire Premier to provide home care services and, soon after, joined the team. Since joining Premier Caregiver Services, Loretta has become certified as an Alzheimer’s Association Community Educator.
In her free time, Loretta enjoys spending time with her family, especially watching her grandchildren participate in a variety of sports. She also loves boating, jet skiing, and traveling with her husband.
Coming to the Premier Caregiver Services team from Tyler, Texas (also known as “City of Roses”), Jen brings over 20 years of marketing and business development experience to the company. She received her degree in Finance and Marketing from the University of Texas and has over 8 years in the healthcare industry. In addition to her healthcare background, Jen is also certified as an Alzheimer’s Association Community Educator.
Her passion for Alzheimer’s and dementia originates from her experience when a family member was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. She took comfort in knowing that she and her family did everything they could to fill her loved one’s final years with joy and meaning by finding the right caregiver.
Jen is a proud mother to her two grown sons (graduated from Texas A & M and the other from UT-Austin), and a daughter who attends the McCombs School of Business-University of Texas-Austin. She loves to spend time with her family, friends, her mini goldendoodle (Guapo) and is an avid hiker with a deep passion for exploring nature.
Having lived in a variety of places since moving from her hometown in California, Jennie Adams has been a resident of Illinois, Wisconsin, Arizona, and now Kentucky as a caregiver. She has over 20 years of experience working directly with individuals who have all types of dementia and disabilities as well as experience as a Licensed Assisted Living Manager since 2013. Jennie joined the Premier Caregiver Services team as a caregiver in 2022, but shifted into the Care Manager role in 2023.
In her spare time, Jennie enjoys gardening and spending time with her family which includes her husband of 11 years, Steven, their one son, and their many pets.
Introducing Sharon Bland, a dedicated retired RN with a passion for compassionate caregiving. With a diploma from Saint Joseph Infirmary and a BSN from McKendree College, her extensive nursing journey is marked by her certifications in critical care (CCRN), hospice (CHPN), nursing administration (CNA-BC), and more. She is also certified as an Alzheimer’s Association Community Educator. Beyond her medical expertise, Sharon is a devoted animal lover, finding joy in the company of dogs and cats. Her interests extend to the beach, gardening, reading, and even the occasional trip to the casino. As the heart and soul behind dementia and Alzheimer caregiving services training program, she not only offers invaluable support but also imparts her wisdom for our caregivers and new employees with the most up to date information.
Meet Alex, our dedicated Office Manager at Premier Caregiver. Originally from Eastern Indiana, Alex recently planted roots in Louisville in the Spring of 2023, alongside her fiancé and three stepchildren. Her journey began in college, where she delved into the dietary department of a hospital, later assuming the role of Dietary Manager in a nursing home during the pandemic.
Through these experiences, Alex’s heartwarming journey led her to uncover a profound passion for senior care. Witnessing the positive impact on families ignited her dedication to this vital field. Beyond her professional role, Alex’s interests span culinary creativity, as she whips up delightful recipes in the kitchen alongside her loved ones. She also takes pleasure in exploring the city of Louisville and indulging in cozy evenings with a bowl of popcorn and a captivating book.
