In a recent YouTube video, we asked two of our in-home caregiver specialists:
what strategies do you employ to establish trust and connection with those you care for?
The transcript of their interview is available below.
Vanessa R.
I’ve always tried to find a connection with my clients, the people who I’m caring for. (0:05)
And to me, that’s one of the most important things when I’m caring for someone, is to find that connection with the person. (0:11)
You need to talk to them, let them know, listen to them first. Listen to the clients first, let them know what your concerns are for them and then vice versa. (0:25)
Jennifer B.
The things I use to employ or establish a connection and trust with my clients would be just being patient with them and compassionate and letting them know that they matter and I’m there for them. (0:32)
