Michael Carr
HR Manager
Michael Carr is the Agency Manager here at Premier Caregiver Services. In his role, he leads the individuals of the company so that they are able to provide the best service possible to our clients. His job is to help each office staff member be the best version of themselves that they can be. As our Agency Manager, Michael enjoys being able to experience client satisfaction firsthand. In our office, we have a wall collection of thank you notes from previous and current clients, and he loves seeing it grow. Being able to improve the experience of our clients and caregivers is what keeps him going when things are tough for him, and his role allows him to do that often.
Having been with Premier since 2019, Michael has risen through the ranks to be in his position. Starting as Business Development Support and then transitioning into an HR role where he was involved in a myriad of tasks including hiring, training, scheduling, and care management, Michael not only has years of experience in the dementia care and homecare industry, but also experience in several roles within the industry. He has been our Agency Manager since December of 2024 and, with as many hats as he has worn for us in the past, there’s not too many folks who have better knowledge to be in his role than him.
In addition to his experience in all types of different roles in the caregiving industry, Michael has completed the CARES Dementia Training and Dementia Live program, which simulates what it feels like to live with dementia. Along with the owner and CEO, John O’Callaghan, he is also a member of HomeCareCEO, a group of private home care companies that collaborate to bring the best dementia caregiving practices to non-franchise companies. His dementia training has been ongoing since he started working with us, and he is proud to take every opportunity to learn and grow in his knowledge that he can.
Michael’s calling to the caregiving industry stems from a desire to give back to the community and have a direct impact on others. Growing up very close with his grandparents, both emotionally and physically, as he was fortunate enough to live down the road from them, he enjoyed helping them around the house and with their chores as an act of love. He gained several life lessons from his grandfather that he still applies to his day-to-day life even now.
When his loved ones began needing in-home caregiving services, they turned to Premier Caregiver Services, even before Michael joined our team. His personal experience with our company has lasted through the years, and we’re happy to have him with us so that the families who trust us to care for their loved ones can have as great of an experience as Michael and his family have. With a family member in the care of Premier, he understands that dementia care requires a lot of patience. His experience on both sides of the client and company relationship allows him to see the big picture, and he lives by the Golden Rule to treat others the way that you would want to be treated if you were in their position and their family was yours.
In his spare time, Michael enjoys traveling the world and learning about different cultures. He also is a sports fanatic and, as a Louisville-native, loves watching the University of Louisville sports teams play. Outside of sports, he spends a lot of time with his wife and 2 dogs as well as his other family and friends in Louisville.
